Murtha called for removal as soon as practical which he thought would be about 6 months. Plus, Murtha the hawk, wanted to leave some of them close by.

What I hear in the debate now is:

1. Iraqis want us gone
2. The idea of national Iraqi security forces, which is the latest Bushie gambit, is a nonstarter.
3. It's already a bloody civil war and, with us gone, there will be more civil war until someone comes out on top.
4. The political process isn't working with the divisions becoming ever deeper.
5. Bush has destroyed the army.

To which I'll add: where the heck is Osama Bin Laden and is anyone in the Bush administration watching Afghanistan?
