"Dirty bomber" to go on trial: news.yahoo.com A very cheering thing about the WOT is that the Islamic Jihad troops are the dregs of Islam. The likes of Richard Shoebomber Reid and Padilla and so on right up to Osama are the rejects of their own world [though he and his senior leaders are fairly clued up and more imaginative than Condoleezza Rice by her own admission]. They are largely hopeless brutal thugs who have found an approved organized outlet and cash flow for their vicious tendencies. A bit like those low-life IRA criminals found money [from the USA] drugs and the fun of violence, which they love, in their "freedom fighting". They aren't really a long-run threat with popular support for their ideologies which are the politics of the disaffected. Of MUCH more concern is the likes of Iran getting hold of noocular bombs. That would be like Adolf getting some and facing down Winston and Stalin with V2s and bomber aircraft ready to launch. Mqurice
