I think this is a good bit of the reason. <<NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Merrill Lynch upgraded Micron Technology Inc. (MU) to buy from neutral because of the long-anticipated announcement to form a joint company with Intel Corp. (INTC). The broker said under the terms of the agreement, Micron will be the majority owner of a venture that will provide both companies with NAND flash memory. Merrill added that "near-term confusion about what happens next is an opportunity.">>
