Sampat, that is a "tough" question.

Any good thoughts on what to buy now in semi-land?>>

There are so many factors that go into the picking of a particular stock, for a particular person, that I don't know how to answer properly.

In my own case, I pick stocks from the Group, and SOX that I think are going to do well, and like most people, I have successes and failures.

I think my best advice is to review the weekly reports on the Group and SOX posted on this thread and look for those with rising earnings and good PEG numbers over a period of time. Look for positive trends in earnings and revenue.

Having said all the above, it is also important to know whether the sector(s) is in ascent or descent as well. These stocks tend to move together, both up and down - paying attention to the indicies such as the SOX and NASDAQ is very important.

I wish you good luck in your stock picks - may they all be positive.:)
