WHo was president when Saddam gassed the Kurds? And why didn't that US president say a single word about it? When you've answered that question, and combined with the fact that Reagan-Bush provided massive arms sales to both Iran and Iraq, you start getting the real picture.

GW Bush's rush to attack Iraq was not about US security, it was about the Texas cabal/neocon vision of strategic advantage, combined with seizing oilfields worth trillions of dollars which they would personally profit from, they and their cronies, but not the American people nor the Iraqi people. When you've digested all that, then you may proceed.

One more thing, when Reagan blew it in Beirut and with Iran-Contra, he went before the American People and apologized, taking full responsibility. Bush has yet to do anything of the sort on any level ever. And his mistakes are much worse than Reagan's were.
