Murtha votes against bringing the troops home immediately

The dems are short on ideas - they simply want the debate to continue to try and create a cloud before the next election.

No, the opposition wants a killing, expensive and ridiculous war to end because that's the right thing to do.

Democrats have much better solutions to all our big issues.
Name one, I'll give it to you. Unlike Bushies, their solutions are realistic and often include strong medicine. for instance on energy, budget balancing and the environment. All three are disasters under Bush-Cheney. All three must be revamped as we look for smart forward-looking solutions. All three will involve sacrifices and painful compromises. Bush-Cheney are going to leave the house a total mess. The clean-up is going to be long and costly.

“Clinton took the advice and ordered the withdrawal - a decision that Osama bin Laden would later credit with emboldening his terrorist fighters and encouraging him to mount further attacks against the U.S.”

At this point, a Google news search identified only a handful of media sources – including Rush Limbaugh, The American Thinker, and Village Soup – as having picked up this story. Yet, there are a number of articles from September 1993 that appear to confirm the NewsMax story, so many so that one has to wonder if and when any mainstream press outlets are going to report this.

For instance, Rowan Scarborough with the Washington Times at that point reported on September 6, 1993:

“Foes of America's lingering military involvement in Somalia will force the first congressional debate on the policy this month, just as some senior Democrats begin to question President Clinton's open-ended troop commitment.”

“House aides say other senior Democrats, like Rep. John Murtha, chairman of the House Appropriations subcommittee on defense, are privately expressing concerns.”

On September 22, 1993, an Associated Press story stated:
