That is true. But climate changes cause extinctions. Extinctions aren't terrible, but the simpler your ecology becomes, the more difficult it is to keep stable. As anyone who keeps a saltwater tank. In addition, we feed the number of people we do because our crops have been bred and modified for high yield. They are also very picky about temperature, rain profiles, day length, length of the growing season, etc.

Gratuitously messing with that, and messing with it in ways that can cause fast changes, is, at best, stupid.
