The rightwing is lying about Murtha. When they describe his proposal they're like Soviet propaganda guys and totally distort his words. They mislead the public about what Murtha was saying.

Nobody cares more about the troops than Murtha. Bushies have been callous and exploitative with the troops. They're the ones who've gotten 20,000 killed and wounded, not Murtha. And most of those casualties were from mis-planning and mis-leading.

Online polls are useless. A few years ago, BBC did a poll on who is the greatest actor of the previous millennium. The result was Amitabh Bachchan. Heard of him?

How did that happen? A feverish email campaign among Amitabh Bachchan fans from India and voila'! - Bachchan got something like 90% of the votes! And people from India tell me that even in India, there are several actors who are better than Bachchan, who is more of an action star than an actor (kinda like Arnold Boobengrabber, but without the lecherous behavior of the latter).
