"Marine Claims He Never Said It

The marine quoted by Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-OH) on the House floor last week implying Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) was "a coward," claims he never said it, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. In fact he said "he would never call a fellow Marine a coward."

Said Marine reserve colonel Danny Bubp: "I don't want to be interjected into this. I wish she never used my name."

Meanwhile, Schmidt "declined to explain her comments" to the newspaper and "also skipped two previously scheduled appearances in Cincinnati."
