You are not accounting for any of the Iraqi deaths.

cbc.ca

Considering the population of the country, the number of deaths in Iraq has been significant.

Dont confuse our brave soldiers with that asshole Rumsfeld who refused to admit to or correct operational errors. And dont buy into uncleclueless view of comparing auto accidents with military casualties. When the 57,000th US soldier died in vietnam, I am sure he was saying that victory was just around the corner. You have been hoodwinked by the swiftboaters selective memories. You sound as ludicrous as sylvestor when he makes his anti-american rants. Mike@thoughtful_moderates.com

The number of deaths in Iraq would have been far higher if it wasn't for improved field medical technology. In addition, the 2100 is only those KIA and it doesn't include those who died of their wounds or those who are permanently maimed.

Note also that this isn't a war against a country or even a visible organization and, in fact, isn't even considered major combat by Bush.

Actually, some number of these people are not 'volunteers' but those who were hoodwinked by the government and treated to a backdoor draft. Still others were looking for help in obtaining an education or simply looking for a decent job.

Note that there aren't Republican recruits breaking down any doors lately. In fact, the military is making some of its recruiting goals by throwing most if not all of their qualification requirements out of the window.

Are you volunteering for Iraq? They've tried to get grandmothers and grandfathers back in and succeeded on occasion. There's a big need for volunteers and I'm sure they'll take you.
