I guarantee you that if I say for public consumption, "Karen intentionally misled readers of this board" you can take it to the house that I publicly accused you of lying.

Yes, but it's the "intentionally" that makes that accusation.

Some people apparently believe that "mislead" always means "lie." Some people think that "mislead" includes the innocent conveyance of wrong information. You, yourself, said "intentionally mislead." You're good with words. If "mislead" cannot be innocent, then why would you modify it with "intentionally"? Only to distinguish it from innocent misleading. So, back to your original point, if you said I mislead, I would try to figure out a better way to phrase whatever I said that mislead. I would not think myself accused of lying.

Alternatively, let's say that I'm wrong about that and that there is, indeed, a legitimate difference of opinion about what it means. Why can't those who think "mislead" means "lie" simply understand that everyone doesn't mean it that way and that it's possible that Bush is not being accused of lying when other people use the word, what it means is whichever the speaker intended? In which case they would accept that I'm just giving the Dems the benefit of the doubt and let it go at that. Oh, there goes Karen giving those damn dirty Dems the benefit of the doubt again. Poor deluded thing.

Of course, there are the people who always want to think the worst of anyone not on their team and who manufacture affront where there is none or where it's not clear. Some people in this world look for points of agreement and some people look for trouble. They will look for trouble regardless.

your interminable repetitive wordsmithing of every darn post is getting pretty boring and more than a little tiresome.

How do you think it feels on this end to be constantly questioned about what I think are pretty clear and straight-forward expressions? Do you really think I enjoy this constant explanation and repetition of the same simple things? Better you should ask why people keep trying to pick a fight. It takes two sides to make a tiresome discussion, you know.

All it takes to shut me up is a simple "I take your point but disagree" or an even simpler non-response. I am not trying to persuade anyone of anything in these duels. I'm trying to straighten out mis-communication or distortion. Just acknowledge that you understand what I'm saying and I get to stop saying it. I would consider each "I understand" as a mitzvah.
