Thank you. I think my bad grammar is to an extent an intuitive stylistic device, but for the most part - yes, it's just poor grammar. I have the (non)excuse of having grown up in a non-English speaking country, and only really learned the language in my late 20's and beyond... Some grammatic idiosyncrasies are like an accent - they never disappear completely... and when one is is tired - or not feeling sharp for some other reason - they become more pronounced. My wife tells me she is surprised that sometimes I actually write "without an accent".... ;)

Rereading it now, I see that my post was packed a little too tightly - and not neatly enough... thanks for making the effort.
