>>We needed the screen real estate for the additional feature summarizing the members' posting activity. <<

I believe that restricting HTML in the profiles does nothing but destroy creativity that the original SI encourage.

I consider the new use of real estate as totally useless. What purpose is served by listing the last 25 posts twice?

I understand the rational for changing the format, but I'm not happy about it! No longer will we be able to see a side of posters that told us a lot about their character. No longer will members be able to bring attention to special events or causes dear to them. Yes some of the content may have been graphic or politically oriented and offensive to other users, but it also served the purpose of letting one know who they may not want to become cyber buddies with. Yes sometimes members used code that hide some of the content on the profiles, but this also gave us insight as to who they were. As far as an opportunity to embed malicious scripts or install malware on other users' computers, has there ever been an instance of this occurring on SI?

In summary these changes are just another step in making SI look like ever other site on the internet; clearly not a wise decision in my opinion!

Clearly the following suggestion fell on deaf ears:

So I spent some time thinking about this nuke the profiles move of yours.

Very indicative.

Of the WTF cares about members attitude on your part.

I just re-upped. Meaning I put hard money on your table. A lot of it.

Next day you nuke my profile. Poof. Just like that. Double zero warning.

Maybe I spent years collecting links in it. Maybe they're priceless. Irreplaceable.

Maybe I don't have a copy of those links. Why should I? I never expected you to nuke my profile. Why would you? Without warning?

But you did.

By nuking it you told me you don't give a damn about the most personal of me here on SI.

You nuked it. You nuked every "me" on SI. Every "me" there ever was, dead or alive.

Pathetic.

Can't believe SI Bob and Dave could be so god damned insensitive toward their SI soulmates and The History of Silicon Investor.

Thanksgiving.

Same to you, doods.
