In my experiences with indoctrinating new personnel reporting to our commands, I've found the vast majority of people that felt ripped off never read anything that they signed. If that's not a sure sign of intelligence..NOT. I also found that the Navy bent over backwards to get them the schools that they wanted, sometimes that took a few years in the fleet before the schools. The end result though is generally someone that makes a better sailor overall since they've already had practical exposure in the fleet. You'd be surprised by the percentage of the reenlistments.
