Beware the lemming-like nature of the Convention Wisdom.

I suggest reading Stephen Hayes, not with blind faith, but as an antidote. There is much that the intelligence folks believe but can't prove, and more that they can prove, and just about all of it has been spiked by the MSM, while they print the mendacious self-puffery of a Joe Wilson as if it were gospel truth.

I have the distinct impression that on 9/11, every intelligence officer in the world said to himself, Al Qaeda hit a home run out of its league on this one. They had help from some mukhabarat getting this one together. And there were basically only four candidates to consider: Iraq, Iran Saudi Arabia, and Syria, in descending order of likelihood. The evidence pointed most to Iraq, since Osama was in contact with the Iraqi mukhabarat and had received aid and offers of asylym from them before.
