The LA riots were not a joke......in fact, some called them an insurrection. The city burned for two weeks. The National Guard was called in and we were under curfew for weeks. I don't even know what you're talking about when you mention 1989. There is absolutely no comparison

Never said they were - a friend of mine lost his store to fire during that time. In 1989 drive by shootings were all the rage, seemed like there was a couple every day. The point is that the only thing reported about LA was the drive by count which made it appear to be under siege every day, everywhere and that no one could go outside - yet millions did every day.
