There seems to be a great deal of frustration at the abuses of our citizenship for anyone born here policy. The point that several lawmakers are making is that the system has been routinely abused to have a baby born with US citizenship, who can then get their illegal immigrant parents citizenships. In a previous time it was an appropriate policy.

It is a worth debating again. Perhaps it could be modified so that only if the mother is in the country legally, would the child be a citizen. Even if you considered tourist visa's as legally here, it could dramatically change many dynamics of the illegal immigration problem.
