Croc,

<spiders for me to photograph. >

Don't you know how hard it is for a spider to pull on snow pants and mittens? That's why they stay inside.

We have more snow that started today. A18 and I just finished putting up our outside Christmas lights - it's always a major production - extension chords, old hockey stick to string the lights on the higher branch, step ladders and strings of light that all of a sudden down work even after you've tested them. Years ago under a large maple in front of the house that has a bed of mountain laurel around it, a small green weed like tree began to grow. I decided to let it continue growing even though it was in the middle of the laurel. It only grows about an inch a year. It is now about three feet high and very bushy now with long needles. Last year we ran a line out to it and put tiny white lights on it - it looked great so we decorated it this year too. It looks great under the giant maple and seems very pleased with itself.

We have kids home from college and all their friends have been streaming in and out of the house yesterday and today - fun time of year.
