Len > Secret British document accuses Israel

Yes, I think we have our wires crossed -- Gus posted that piece to me and I posted the one about the EU condemning Israeli occupation of Jerusalem back to him.

All the same, I don't know what to make of it all? Why both the UK and the EU are now taking, effectively, a hostile position to Israeli expansion, when they did not do so before, is not clear to me? It is also not clear what tricks Sharon has up his sleeve by turning the Knesset on its head and "reshuffling" Israeli political allegiances. I have, in fact, speculated that the "secret" UK and EU positions may have something to do with that.

IMO, the Mein Kampf of Perle & Co, ie the " A Clean Break - Securing the Realm" manifesto, has failed as result of the debacle in Iraq. Likewise, the status of the neocons as Rasputins to Court of King George. Consequently, there has to be a rethink on the way Israel deals with the Palestinians and I wouldn't be surprised to see a modified Oslo Accord being proposed where some West Bank and a bit of this and a bit of that is offered as a peace "token".
