Re: "There plainly were many lies and half truths told. Here is an example of a lie from the Mission Accomplished speech:

"We have removed an ally of al-Qaida"

This is a lie."

No. It simply isn't established as a lie, and won't be, IMHO.

Re: "And we know that Bush knew it was a lie because he was told by intelligence that Iraq and Al Qaida were not in cahoots:"

Not so. He was told there was no proven connection to 911 itself. He was also told there were meetings between Iraq and Al Qaeda. CIA reports themselves noted numerous reports of meetings between Iraq and Al Qaeda for 10 years. We just don't know what was discussed in said meetings. The bottom line: Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. You are welcome to surmise that noted meetings between Iraq and Al Qaeda did not include discussions of terrorism. Yet given the much better established ties between Iraq and Palestinian terrorism, it is hardly reasonable to assume no such discussions took place, nor to conclude that there were no ties between Iraq and Al Qaeda terrorism at all.

Fact is, the administration certainly believed there was a connection, probably still does (all of which precludes a lie, by definition), and there is no way to prove there wasn't.

Since we know Iraq and Al Qaeda conducted meetings, what do you think would have been the necessary mutually agreed upon reasons for said meetings between these two entities?
