Kevin, Hitler wanted to rule the earth, and wanted to do it for the glory of der fauderland, but the Japanese jumped the gun, and took advantage of a serious mistake made by FDR. FDR was warned by every high echelon officer in the Pacific that having the entire Pacific fleet in port at Pearl Harbor was just asking for a disaster, but FDR issued an executive order to bring the fleet in, and if hard nosed Bull Halsey had not had mysterious engine trouble with his carrier task force, the only navy we would have to go up against the Japanese, were PT boats made out of plywood.The Japanese could not refuse such an opportunity. And I know I misspelled "fauderland".
