I actually had several people on another thread explain to me why Germany and France's double digit unemployment is better than our 5% unemployment.... I guess if you're lazy, Europe is the way...

For instance, if you don’t belong to a Union a person in the US could get fired for being overweight or being a smoker even if you have given 25 years service. That doesn’t seem to be the life of liberty it’s supposed to be. Overall - European style socialism probably enriches life for more people or a larger % of the population so its not the evil Republicans make it out to be. Yes, Europe is going to be very happy with all those obese smokers walking around.....ah the romance of it all.
