Towards the coast it is much, much worse. There are boats scattered here and there, and there are some roads that are still blocked. In Louisiana, there are still parishes that won't let you in with out a permit, or so I am told.

The TX, LA, MISS Gulf coasts are turning into America's dirty little secret. NBC News each day provides a progress report......or the lack thereof. If all the FEMA help is going to the Katrina victims, then FEMA is a lot worse off than I thought.

Of course, this is turning into something like the Iraq war. Even when you point out to the Bushies that they are screwing up and they seemingly try to do it better, they can't. Makes you wonder if they've been doing anything in DC these past few years except spend money.
