True. Prior to his 9/11 "stardom" Rudy was sort of unpopular with many - I suspect, most - of the city's constituencies... teachers, firemen, cops, you name them - everyone had a grudge against the Mayor. And yet, everyone sensed that he was very effective, and that he would win a re-election just for the asking. No one really liked the guy, but everyone, it seems, respected him.

Rudy seems to be a bit of a thick-headed bull. I would definitely want to know more about his general political thinking before I vote for him.... for this will be the mindset which he would carry into the Presidency. Don't expect too much flip-flopping from this man.
