FWIW, I think Broadcom is the Intel of this cycle. Google is the Microsoft, Unova is the Qualcomm, Salesforce & RightNow are the Peoplesoft/Siebel, Tradestation is the eTrade.

What cycle? Economic trends and semiconductor trends move in cycles. Tech spending just grows - the rate can vary, but its hardly "cyclical" relative to economic trends or semis. Do you perhaps mean decade instead of cycle?

If you mean decade, my hunch is that semis will be the software of this decade (if that makes any sense). Big software is dead, but semis are more profitable than ever and also still demonstrating above average growth.
