How is that purpose served by making citizens buy new pieces of plastic every 4 years? Taxpayers have invested $billions so any officer can access an up to date driving record instantly. A driver's license card is an anachronism. It's just an ID card and you shouldn't need to update it unless there's a significant change in your ID.

Yes, if we didn't have state licensing for Doctors, we would have quacks practicing medicine, wouldn't we? :>)

I won't bother to defend this position. It's just too radical for most people.

Marriage is not an apt comparison....Nor do we want 85 year old Alzheimer's patients driving a Ford Excursion.

About as much as we want married couples producing serial killers or traitors or scam artists or wife beaters.
