See, when it's closer to 2.5 years, your reporter says "after three years of occupation." This is a clue that he can't properly evaluate details. Then his guest doesn't see fit to correct the record, which indicates that he has little concern for the truth in the details.

But giving Fallows some credit, he says the ready battalion count moving from 3-1 was a "technical change" rather than an actual degradation of troop readiness in the real world...which he could have said had he though it true. I wonder how he gleaned what you were unable to comprehend despite the plain testimony presented to you? LOL.

And while he understands better than you, this guy has a negative view.

There are new training techniques, Iraqis are not defecting in the same way they did a year ago. The problem is the confrontation. The insurgency they need to deal with has been getting worse and getting worse faster than they have been getting better."
