That is an interesting question and the answer would depend on conscience and self image.

I would have to conclude that there is poor weighting in the elements of your question.

As neither is good, I can only respond that a person whom has the inclination and does actually murder has not the conscience or self image that would be troubled by the act.

So you have only the person being murdered as suffering a loss.

Human nature is to survive. That makes the murderer in the better position with his basic needs.

Now, all this is without a firm definition of what you term murder.
