That depends strictly on the person. One of the best bosses I ever had was an Indian Muslim. If he told you he'd see that something would happen, you could take it to the bank.

And in Turkey, we had innumerable experiences where we were lost (we were driving a rental and any city can be pretty confusing), we'd stop beside somebody at a light (yes, they do stop for red lights there) and ask directions and the guy would insist on leading us to our destination by following his car. Now how often have you had that happen here in the US?

And there are a few rotten apples. I wrote about one way down on the thread. But any barrel has a few.

I've also been in Saudi Arabia. Now I can't say I particularly like their culture; in fact, I consider it an abomination. The dogs outrank the women there. But there are 3 classes of people there: Saudis, westerners and educated Arabs, and the slaves. (And women. I'm not sure they rank at all.) The slaves were other Muslims they brought in by the 747-full to do the dirty work- -like dig ditches in 125 degree heat, or, if they were lucky, serve tea or coffee to Saudis or westerners. As a westerner and educated, I was treated well and politely. I'd hate to see their culture spread, though.
