I've been there. They've had billions in wealth from other countries pour in for their oil. They've done NOTHING with it. Except corrupt the royal family further. They have built a few skyscrapers in Riyadh to house them and a few freeways to get them to the Emirates so they can ignore their religion's ban on alcohol, but other than that... They've done nothing to build industries to replace that oil revenue and educate their populace to man those non-existent industries. They have a few farms- -watered by water distilled from ocean water by burning oil. They still breed horses and camels in the oasis as they did before. Maybe they can all become jockeys.
