Somehow I have difficulty visualizing her vacationing in a place where land mines are a problem. No problem. The burka will protect her. :-) A friend of mine went to Afghanistan to monitor the elections. She came back safely. Commented that she did wear a scarf while there. Depends on the country. Not expected of western women in Tunisia or Turkey except in mosques. Even there, often overlooked if they don't. The more Islamic countries, a hair covering for women is advisable.
