I would not suggest that one could not use a car in self defense. I am sorry that when I said, "It is illegal to use cars as a weapon.", that I did not note this exception. There was no intent to confuse or mislead you. Anything may be used for self defense where it is a rational response within the law. "if someone is in the road trying to shoot me it wouldn't be illegal for me to run him over." It might be illegal. It would depend on your alternatives and your actual danger and your state of mind. If he was trying to shoot you with bullets it would be a start. If it was a water pistol or a camera you would not have a hope in court...<g>
