J,

If you drive down a logging road OFF the highway about 300 yards, you'll see clearcut devastation

The timber industry is in the business of leasing public lands and growing trees they intend to cut, I'm not sure your point when they harvest trees grown specifically for lumber.

That's why they call them "tree farms".

Call them up and ask for access:

St. Helens Tree Farm Access Hotline 1-866-636-6531

Vail Tree Farm Access Hotline 1-800-361-5602
or (360) 446-3813

White River/Snoqualmie Tree Farms 1-800-433-3911

Or if you fly over. Regan started the rape of our national forests. During his administration board-feet of lumber out of the Northwest multiplied by several orders. It's sickening to see mountain after mountain completely denuded. And the logs were sent to Asia.

What the RepugniCONS want to do with the National Parks and our public land is probably the same as the timber industry has done to much of the Pacific northwest. If you just stay on the highway, it seems as if you're surrounded by forests. If you drive down a logging road OFF the highway about 300 yards, you'll see clearcut devastation. Since the fatassed RepugniCONS rarely get out of their cars or off the highway, it'll WORK for them.

What's amazing to me is that they want to destroy what's left of the old growth forests. Over and over again, scientists have reported that the ecology of the old growth is very unique and very worth preserving. Of course, Republicans need to hear that there is money in that old growth before old growth makes any kind of impression on them.
