I agree with a number of your observations. But, I think you fail to spread a portion of the blame another deserved group: you and me. How does Walmart drive small businesses out? Why do corporations only care about the bottom line? Why is the trade deficit at an all time high? Because we want to save a buck off toilet paper at Walmart. Because we dump the stock of a company who cares for employees but doesn't meet its bottom line. Because we buy the $1.87 strand of Christmas lights at Target (I bought 3 today, nice alternating red and green ones, very pretty). It's fashionable to blame the 'faceless corporation', when in fact we train our corporations like little puppies to act as they do. What's the answer? Hell if I know.
