There have been only two Hawk. <We've been drawn into too many world wars by permitting the world to "do it's own thing" no matter if it also included invading and terrorizing your neighbors.> It's been a while since the last one. You can't go on dining out on that for the 21st century. The first one was nearly a century ago.

And it's not as though the USA was particularly quick to figure out that it was time to stop the evil-doers.

Also, the USA is frittering away the opportunity to lead in renovation of the UN into something supranational which can legitimately lead in global commons, border security and that's about it. Maybe there are some other things which are needed, but that's enough to start with.

It would be fun to elect a global president. Directly! And to turf the rogue out.
