The actual reality is that it will be some time before we ever know the truth, if we ever learn it.

There was considerable belief that many weapons may have been spirited to Syria. Better to have them in the control of another Ba'thist government than to permit the Americans to find them..

But I'm NOT particularly keen on going after Syria at the moment, except for the purpose of stopping them from supporting AQIZ foreign fighters in Iraq.

And Bashir Assad is under enough pressure as it is, given having to deal with the entrenched Ba'thist power elite in Syria.
