I can see you'd like Saddam to have been captured like his sons - it would certainly clear the air. I disagree. A trial and open discussion about who was doing what will be excellent to hear. He might tell us what April Glaspie told him. We might get some inside information on what Rumsfeld told him when Rumsfeld was supporting Saddam against Iran which the USA wanted to punish for kidnapping Americans.

I'm sure it's much better to have Saddam alive than dead.

It will be instructive to other thugs to see him bear-baited by legions of lawyers in a long-running Truman Show with him as the focus. Milosevic is performing a similar function.

The media will love it. So will the public. It has many elements of a good novel, but in real-time and for real. The Arabian Nights come to life.
