Things were getting desperate. Another round of tax cuts, maybe a tax rebate or two, and we would have been flat broke. As it was, it was a near thing. I dunno. Maybe the French will adopt him like they did Jerry Lewis. In no time, they could be singing the praises of the greatest living American politician, and we can go back to wondering if they really believed that or were just poking fun, like they do when they pretend that hot dogs are made from dogs.
