Are you working for a nonprofit enterprise that doesn't take most of the money as 'fees'? Apparently you expect everyone involved with this war, or any government service supporting the military, to work for free.. including servicemen.. Maybe you'd prefer we just shanghai people off the street and force them to serve in the military as soldier-slaves?? Btw, what's your beef with people being paid for the hours of work they perform? I get paid the same hourly rate as your average government employee.. I just work a hell of lot more hours than they do back in the states. My average work week equate to 2 1/2 weeks worth of work for the average person in the states. Did you know that the average KBR truck driver, when all of their hours are added up and divided, make around $15-20/hour? The difference is that most of us contractors pack a year's worth of labor hours into 1/2 a year.. I guess I should just put in 40 hours per week? Or maybe any hours I work above 40 I shouldn't get paid for.. Ain't going to happen. So why not quit making with the "straw man" arguments trying to impugn my compensation for the hours I work and spend a bit more time trying to provide compelling and documentable logical evidence to substantiate your wild @ss belief system. While those trainees had one uniform and no running water or toilets, we have some troops with internet access in their rooms and wide screen TV's. Again, WTF is going on with the distribution of resources? Wide Screen TV?? That's awesome!! I wish had the time to enjoy such luxuries. The only TV I receive is via the AFN TV signal on our computer network. Did you ever think that maybe those soldiers actually may have bought that TV themselves? I've seen then available in the PX in Baghdad... And there is a greater proliferation of wireless Internet networks now, but where I work the only internet access some 100 soldiers have are two computers that we all have to share. And btw, what have you got against Subway Sandwiches?? I actually prefer Blimpies, but I don't think there are any in Iraq.. ;0) But what's the deal?? Finally, there are some VERY nice DFACs with those cakes and milk shakes... I wish I had one near me.. ;0) All of our food is delivered to our location and it's usually semi-warm and not particularly appealing.. But we do get Baskin Robbins almost everyday.. Hawk
