Bush will give a major speech tomorrow. Speculation is that he will announce a pull strategy/schedule for Iraq.

This situation reminds me of that pre-WW2. We've lost our way, nerve, and courage. Most of the liberals refuse to even consider what will be the likely outcomes of a quick pull-out, leaving an unstable gov't unable to defend itself behind. The British and French were so afraid of a repeat of WW1 losses that they failed to notice warfare had changed and they had no choice in any case. Adolph Hitler showed them their mistake.

A more recent example exists too: Reagan and Beirut. After the bombing of our embassy there, he pulled out. Someone was watching: Osama bin Laden. He concluded that if you would just kill some Americans, they would break and run.
