French Prime Minister Villepin now warns against a hasty US withdrawal from Iraq after fighting tooth and nail against the war:

Funny how the French government seems to believe that it has the right to dictate US policy and actions in Iraq, whether it be going to war, or withdrawing forces.

Maybe they should be ponying up some forces themselves if they feel maintain a coalition presence in Iraq is so critical to the stability of the country.

I also find it rather interesting how the French have recently passed their version of the "patriot act", which includes internet cafes maintaining a list of users for a one year period.

Can we imagine the uproar is that were the case in the US?
