burning sulphur stinks something awful.. mix some with potassium nitrate. If out of potassium(potassium was used in a lot of various experiments) we used to go to drug store and get saltpeter same thing.

potassium nitrate burns like crazy and fires up the sulphur.. hence quite the stink.
