Subdividing Iraq is an excellent idea. Because of their passionate differences, and how little life means to those cultures, the country is inherently un-unitable. It should be divided into Sunni and Shiite states. Then they can at least unite to fight each other on fairly equal terms. Big stumbling block is who gets what oil fields.

Does anyone else find it interesting that the Sunnis, who are still doing most of the killing of civilians, are the ones who are worried about Shiite reprisals?
