I've got a buddy that blew a knee out plying volleyball on a Navy ship in peacetime. He's been going to the VA for treatment forever, as well as getting a partial disability check for life. He has to wait weeks going into months for an appointment, but because it's free he likes it.

Not much but around here they closed the VA hospital and the vets now get their care and meds at a first rate hospital.
