You are absolutely correct. Conservatives are not the problem. Also, not all Liberals are helpful. In fact, it is obvious that neither side has all the answers. It is also obvious that both sides have fringe groups that they should disown. Neither side is going away any time soon. Chances are the country is better off that we continue to have this debate - probably forever. The real problem as I see it, at this moment, is George W. Bush. He is not at all like his father - George H. W. Bush. You may disagree with what he stood for, but George H. W. Bush was legitimate in every way. George H. W. Bush was a varsity athlete at Yale University - not a cheerleader. George H. W. Bush was a real War hero. He volunteered for combat duty. He risked his life for his country. He worked his way up to become President of the United States. He was a Congressman, Director of the CIA, Ambassador to China, and Vice President of the United States for 8 years before becoming President. He could hold his liquor. He worked hard and he applied himself. Gulf War I was fought the way it should have been fought. It was fought based on principle. Hussein's invasion of Kuwait was not going to stand. Virtually everyone in the world signed up. At least, no one objected. And, the world paid for the War. He did not go into Baghdad as that would have brought us into a quagmire that would have been difficult for us to get out. George W. Bush, in contrast, does not stand up (measure up to his father). Here is my problem with Conservatives. Especially the neocons. I do not fully disagree with the neocons on ideology, policy, or values. Conservatives (especially the neocon variety) touted, hyped, and exaggerated George W. Bush's qualifications for President. IMO Conservatives sold out our country. For that, I believe is their greatest sin. They can not be trusted again.
