Where do you see a 6-year bear?

Nearly 8, by my count, on the broader indices. The last leg, the one off the Russian default low of '98, turned out to be a bull trap of historic proprotions. Since a bull trap is an aspect of bear markets, that pulls the end of the bull back to the '98 high. This shows up most clearly on the Dow.

Even if you insist on a '00 start to the bear, we're still nearly 6 years in.
