paul reeve's ear-

comes on at 2 am here. i hope i'm not still up.
besides, i already saw them live here in ABQ.
it was 37 years ago but i remember it as vividly
as if it were last night.

ginger baker was drinking a budweiser. (this was
before he sold out to falstaff for that "thirst
slaker" commercial.) it was in my days of seeking
god through cactus, al la, the "native american
church" and the peyote sacrament.

i talked to god "in a white room" with black
curtains at the station.

Face of Time
words by Arlo Guthrie, music by Abe Guthrie

This world is not my home
Passing through me
As clouds before the moon
The great depths of the ocean
Barely take notice
Of wind upon the waters
Therefore I from the depths of my soul
Laugh at distractions
Amusing myself with songs
The shadows of clouds above
Played upon the face of time

Timster,

The Cream concert was on PBS in Boston last night....wow! Those guys can still rip it. It's interesting, Bruce's voice has faded a bit on the high notes and Clapton's has improved. Bruce's fretless base is elegant, and Baker's doubles are still the coolest - and Clapton is still "slow-hand"..so clean.

The jamming was just awesome - shots of the crowd were great - lots of guys long in the tooth like me.

Gonna get the CD's offered in the fund raising. Thanks for the heads up - much better than Andy Williams.
