The US housing market should* be very expensive, even for locals* "Expensive" and "unaffordable" are not the same thing. Many of us couldn't afford to buy our own houses at today's prices. I know working professional couples who can't even think of buying their own homes.... which would be unheard of 20 - or, even 5 years ago. The Bear works in mysterious ways. Maybe we have become impoverished without ever realizing what happened. You can't afford to buy a home? Guess what -- you are not as well off as you think you are.
