What's' WRONG with it is a danger the Founder's lost sleep over: Failure of the people to be critical enough of government to recognize defective laws. That way lies tyranny, which the Founders, being trained in law, were scared to death of.

The worst are the populists who keep parroting the concept that "The law is the law, and we are a nation of laws." They simply assume we would start to kill and eat each other if we didn't dedicate ourselves to obedience to even the most obviously flawed laws (rejection of "politics" makes them think that way.)

The problem, though (since populists need only exposure to quickly become public jokes), is that conservatives have suspended their cynicism of government and refuse to see that the problem of "illegal immigration" is defective law, not immigration-which has always been the life blood of America. The hypocrisy that THEIR ancestors were "legal" just adds to their current obscene madness...

You never hear about that, because the direction of flow is TO this country.

An American kid misbehaved down in Indonesia a few years back, and was duly caned. I've heard people caught for dope in Turkey never see the light of day again.

It's THEIR country over there. Ours here. We should be able to enforce a few rules about coming here.
