Yes but you implied, intentionally or not, that the number was up from 37% on the RASMUSSEN poll and Rasmussen has been hovering in the low to mid forties for weeks.

Depends on how far away from the centre the subject under discussion is... in this case I'd say it's possible to be right of centre and still well to the left of Bush.

Or, at least to the left of Cheney and his ilk. Other than tax cuts for the top earners and boosts for big oil I'm none too sure what Bush's political stance actually is, whereas Cheney's pretty clearly on the imperialist fringe and believes not so much in the classic right as in the divine right, i.e. the right of kings (and Presidents) to do as they will...
